Story
“Journey to the Bottom of Naboo”
An underwater expedition
On the planet Naboo, the Jedi younglings Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay and Nubs accompany their Gungan guide Kluurt aboard a Gungan submarine, which is docked by a riverbank. The younglings are eager to take part in their first underwater mission. Since Kluurt is serving as the submarine’s navigator, she asks one of them to volunteer as the pilot. Brightstar volunteers to serve as the pilot.
The Jedi younglings are contacted via holoprojector by OG-LC, who tells them that Kluurt will be guiding them to their destination: the long-lost starship Twilight Explorer. He explains that it was recently discovered at the bottom of Lake Paonga. The Twilight Explorer contains a treasure known as the star compass, which was used by Jedi explorers to help navigate through the galaxy. OG-LC tasks the younglings with retrieving the compass so that it can be studied at the Jedi Temple.
Treasure race
The eager younglings accompany Kluurt aboard the Gungan submarine into the depths of Lake Paonga. While passing a shoal of fish, they spot another submarine being ridden by the thief Tooba Jinx. Via comlink, Jinx tells the Jedi younglings that he is also searching for the star compass and hopes to sell it for a lot of money. He speeds away. Brightstar gives chase in the Gungan submarine. Kluurt pleads with Brightstar to be careful but he scratches the hull of the submarine against an undersea canyon.
Jinx narrowly avoids being caught by a colo claw fish. The colo claw fish turns its attention to the Jedi’s Gungan submarine. Brightstar turns the submarine around and takes it into an underwater passage. The colo claw fish is unable to follow them through the passage since it is too big. Brightstar is worried that Jinx will beat them to the Twilight Explorer and the star compass. Kluurt reassures them that she knows a short cut that will them to the sunken starship and its treasure. Shortly later, they arrive at the wreck of the Twilight Explorer.
The Jedi younglings don scuba suits and accompany Kluurt inside the sunken ship. Since they don’t know the exact location of the star compass, they decide to split up. While exploring the bridge, Brightstar finds the compass. He radios the others. Before he can retrieve it, Jinx uses a grappling claw to grab the compass from Brightstar. Jinx taunts Brightstar about beating him to the compass before retreating. Brightstar pursues the thief and is joined by Solay, Nubs and Kluurt.
To slow down his pursuers, Jinx dislodges several crates into their path. Kluurt is trapped under the crates. Nubs and Solay are unable to free her on their own and call Brightstar for help. Brightstar makes the difficult decision to abandon the pursuit and helps his Jedi friends free Kluurt. Solay reassures Brightstar that he did the right thing while Nubs suggests using the short cut to catch up with Jinx. Kluurt and Solay agree and they return to their submarine.
Pursuit and escape
The Jedi and Kluurt race after Jinx’s submarine. Via comlink, Brightstar tells Jinx to return the Star compass since it is a Jedi relic. A defiant Jinx retorts that the compass is his and accelerates his submarine. His submarine’s currents generate the attention of the colo claw fish they encountered earlier. The colo claw fish attacks his submarine, causing it to crash into the canyon and break off its rear electromotive fins. Jinx’s submarine crashes into an underwater cave. With the ship’s controls damaged, he is unable to unlock the rear hatch at the bottom of his submarine. The colo claw fish burrows into the cave, seeking to break into his submarine.
In desperation, Jinx contacts his Jedi opponents and asks them for help. Brightstar tasks Solay with using the submarine to distract the colo claw fish while he, Nubs and Kluurg free Jinx and retrieve the compass. Solay distracts the colo claw dish with lights and leads it on a chase. Meanwhile, the trio unlock the rear hatch and manage to free Jinx from his wrecked submarine. However, the colo claw fish notices them and charges into the cave. Kluurg manages to lead the Jedi and Jinx out through a secondary tunnel.
While swimming past the colo claw fish, Brightstar and Jinx are hit by the creature’s tail, causing Jinx to drop the star compass. The two dive after it but are hit by the colo’s claw. Brightstar pulls Jinx to safety. While Jinx is upset about losing the star compass, Brightstar convinces him that surviving is more important. After reuniting with Kluurg, they board the Gungan submarine and escape before the Colo claw fish breaks out of the cave.
Aftermath
When they reach the dock, Solay regales her encounter with the Colo claw fish, which she regards as fascinating. Brightstar replies that the creature was dangerous. Brightstar tells Jinx that his actions could have gotten them killed but the thief takes the opportunity to swim away. After Jinx has left, Kluurg reveals that she has managed to retrieve the star compass. Brightstar examines the compass and finds that it displays the last route of the Twilight Explorer.
“Speeder Surprise”
New speeder bikes
The Jedi younglings Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay and Nubs raise with their astromech droids Beepers, Dozer and Gigi to Nash’s garage. Nash Durango and RJ-83 unveil three speeder bikes they have obtained for them. Each of these speeder bikes come with sidecars for their astromech droids. Durango has tailored each of these bikes for the Jedi younglings. Brightstar’s green and white bike is designed for speed while Solay’s purple bike is designed for tight turns and Nubs is extra tough.
Brightstar invites Durango and RJ-83 to join them for their ride but Durango says that she has promised to help her moms clean out the garage. Brightstar invites Beepers to ride with him since the droid has ridden with several Jedi Masters. Solay rides with Gigi and Nubs with Dozers. Solay and Nubs leave first. Brightstar struggles with the controls and accidentally reverses into the garage but quickly learns how to fly the speeder.
The lost cub
The trio ride their speeder bikes with their droids into the Tenoo tree forest. Nubs uses his bike to demolish a pile of rocks. Brightstar attempts to jump on his bike over a broken Tenoo tree trunk but ends up crashlanding his bike. He and Beepers survive the fall. The six then travel on their bikes into the Tenoo grasslands. They encounter a lakeetah cub. Solay is excited because she has not seen one of these creatures in the wild before. She explains they are really fast. They attempt to befriend the creature but it leads them on a chase. The cub befriends them and takes the opportunity to climb on each of their bikes for affection.
The Jedi and their droids stop for a break. While snacking, the lakeetah cub grabs Brightstar’s mossberry biscuit. He decides to christen the cub Zippy since he is so fast. Zippy lets Brightstar carry and cuddle him. Solay consults the Galactic Creature Guide while Zippy chases a green lizard. While consulting the Creature Guide, she learns that lakeetahs always travel with their families and deduces that Zippy is lost. Brightstar agrees and says they should search for Zippy’s family before nightfall.
While searching through the grasslands for his family, Zippy is led astray by a bifflefly. He chases the butterfly up a large rocky formation but falls off the cliff. Brightstar uses the Force to levitate Zippy to safety. Brightstar deduces that Zippy got separated from his family after being distracted. From the distance, they see a family of lakeetahs roaming the grasslands. The Jedi return to their speeder bikes and race after the family.
Learning to listen
Against Beepers’ advice, Brightstar rides his speeder bike into a swamp. Zippy gets distracted by a furry rodent which he chases. Solay and Nubs soon arrive on their speeders. Brightstar explains his predicament and the two rush after Zippy on their bikes. With Beepers, Brightstar realizes that he did not listen to his droid friend and promises to listen to him in the future. Shortly later, Solay and Nubs return with Zippy. Dozers says that Zippu is not easy to catch.
At the suggestion of Beepers, Nubs uses his speeder and Dozer’s tow cable to pull Brightstar’s bike out of the quagmire. Gigi uses his drone head to track down the location of Zippy’s family. They find their path blocked by a deep ravine. Brightstar considers using a large rock as a launchpad for his speeder to jump across the ravine but Beepers advises against it. Brightstar listens this time and agrees they should find another way.
Beepers proposes that they use a long giant red root as a launchpad for crossing the other side. Brightstar and the other Jedi agree and they use the red root as a launchpad for their speeder bikes. They land on the other side of the ravine safely. Brightstar thanks Beepers for the idea. Zippy reunite with his parents and fellow cubs. At Solay’s prompting, the six of them follow Zippy’s family in their bikes.
